Janina was rescued from a private owner in October of 2014. She lived in a small corn crib on all concrete, with no room to run or a pool to swim in. Janina was used for breeding, and they took the cubs at birth to sell to other exploitive animal businesses. The owners were facing thousands of dollars in fines from the USDA because the animals were kept in such poor condition. All the while they were using Janina for money, they never even bothered to give her a name.
Despite her past, Janina had a happy-go-lucky attitude from the first day we brought her home. She chuffed at everyone and settled in to her new home quickly. Her new favorite pastime is swimming since she got her first pool at NTS!
