Leonard the ring-tailed lemur was sold into the pet trade when he was a baby. He was sold to owner after owner that thought he would make a cute pet, but eventually each owner realized that Leonard was a wild animal and could not be kept as a pet. Leonard’s final private owners donated him to NTS in December of 2014 when he started attacking and biting people.

Leonard enjoys visiting with people and taking naps in his hammock! When he sleeps he wraps himself in a blanket and even pulls it up over his head! Leonard never had the chance to live with another lemur until he came to NTS. Now, he happily resides with our female lemur, Zoe.
